About
Dee is a credentialed mental health nurse and the founder of Breakthrough. She is an empathic professional who has a dynamic approach in working with children, young people and adults. With 10 years of therapeutic experience, she has worked with an array of complex mental health needs in community, in-patient, emergency departments and residential settings. Over the last 6 years, she has held various roles such as managing a multidisciplinary team and providing clinical leadership to specialised Infant, Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services within South West Sydney Local Health District.

Dee has completed her Masters in Mental Health and is credentialed by the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses. To stay up to date with current research and interventions from health professionals throughout Australia, Dee is part of the Suicide Prevention Network with Black Dog Institute.

When not working, Dee is passionate about all things plants, enjoys spending time outdoors and values quality time with her children and family.

Taking a holistic approach and guided by evidence, a credentialed mental health nurse works therapeutically to counsel people who are seeking mental health support.
Credentialed Mental Health Nurses work both in the private and public sector and work collaboratively with GP’s, allied health providers, non for profit organisations, primary health networks and public mental health services for a coordinated care approach.
